If you’re reading this, then you’re probably someone who’s just drifted into our little island paradise away from home. Now I bet some of the locals have even said to you some words that are strange to your ears, and you’ve been wondering what exactly do they mean?
We get it, it’s all weird and scary and confusing all at once.
Well don’t fret! This simple guide should help your way into settling into the Ultern Region. And while this it’s not exactly comprehensive just learning some basic greetings and phrases will be enough for you to sway the hearts of locals in no time!
Just like saying “hello” to someone, no matter who you are, where you’re from, or on what day it is, you will be greeted with this word. It’s easy to remember that everyone can say it! And because of this, it can feel very welcoming upon hearing it!
This word is a staple in Ulternian hospitality. It simply means “welcome!” in the Ulternian language. Locals once they find out you’ve drifted into Ultern for the first time will say this in order to make you feel right at home. It’s also used by shop owners to welcome customers and visitors.
It’s used to express gratitude of all kinds. Basically it’s just like saying “thank you” to someone. Alternatively, you can also just say nifē as well if you’d like to keep it short!
This is used as a toast when drinking. So anytime you raise your glass of delicious berry juice with someone, don’t forget to say karii!
This is simply how you express your thanks and appreciation for the food you were served with. It is equivalent to how those in the Kanto region would say “gochisousama deshita” after finishing a meal.
